White Bread with Olives or Sundried Tomatoes

  • RECIPE MAKES: 1 loaf
  • PREP TIME: 15 minutes
  • COOK TIME: 25 minutes
Step 1

Finely dice olives or sundried tomatoes, depending on the recipe.

Step 2

In a large bowl mix together Mevalia Bread mix, salt and yeast. Add oil and the water and whisk with an electric mixer with beaters for 2 minutes.

Step 3

Add the olives or sundried tomatoes and oregano.

Step 4

Grease a 1lb loaf tin or a 20cm square tin with oil. Place the dough into the tin and flatten with the back of a spoon, wetted, cover with oiled cling film.

Step 5

Let the dough rise in a warm place for 30–45 minutes, until it reaches the top of the loaf tin or has doubled in size.

Step 6

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C Fan/ Gas Mark 6. When proved brush with oil and place in preheated oven. Bake for 30–35 minutes for bread in a loaf tin, 25 minutes for flatbread. Remove the bread from the oven and turn out from tin and place on a cooling rack to cool completely before slicing. USEFUL TIPS For that homemade look, sprinkle a dusting of the Mevalia Bread Mix over the cooked bread as you serve.


  • With Olives
  • 250 g Mevalia Bread Mix
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 Dried yeast
  • 50 g Green olives
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 300 ml Lukewarm water

  • With Sundried Tomatoes
  • 250 g Mevalia Bread Mix
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp Dried yeast
  • 50 g Sundried tomatoes re constituted or from jar with oil
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil or oil from sun dried tomatoes jar
  • 300 ml Lukewarm water
