Deep Fried Gherkins

Step 1

Heat your deep fat fryer to 180°C according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Step 2

Pour the Fate Low Protein All-Purpose Mix, ProZero and breadcrumbs into separate bowls and dip each gherkin in the Fate, then the ProZero and then cover in breadcrumbs.

Step 3

Using a slotted spoon, carefully place each gherkin in the deep fat fryer and fry for 5-10 minutes until golden brown.

Step 4

Remove from the fryer using the slotted spoon and transfer to a paper towel, allow to cool slightly and serve.

  • 80g Fate Low Protein All-Purpose Mix
  • 20ml ProZero
  • 50g Mevalia Bread, blitzed into breadcrumbs
  • 4 Large gherkins
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • You will need a deep fat fryer
