APPLE & CARAMEL PIZZA PIE

  • RECIPE MAKES: 6-8 portions
  • PREP TIME: 10 minutes
  • COOK TIME: 15 minutes
Step 1

Firstly peel and dice the apples then toss them with the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

 

Step 2

Preheat oven to 180c.

 

Step 3

Lightly brush the pizza base with the melted butter, cinnamon and place on a baking sheet.

 

Step 4

Spread the apples on top of the Mevalia pizza base. 

 

Step 5

To make the crumble topping - mix together the Mevalia bread mix  and brown sugar. Then incorporate the cold butter until replicates breadcrumbs.

 

Step 6

Sprinkle it over the apples.

 

Step 7

Bake in the oven for 14-16 minutes or until the crumble is golden brown.

 

Step 8

Meanwhile melt the butter in a small sauce pan then add the brown sugar. Heat until the sugar has dissolved, then add the Mevalia Lattis/ ProZero. Reduce slightly until the sauce comes together.  Add a drop of water to the Mevalia Bread Mix and make it into a thin paste before whisking into the sauce to thicken further.

Step 9

Allow to cool slightly then drizzle over the warm pizza pie  

  • FOR THE BASE:
  • 1 Mevalia Low Protein Pizza Base
  • 10g melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • FOR THE FILLING:
  • 200g Bramley apples, peeled and finely diced
  • 1/2 tbsp Mevalia bread mix
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • FOR THE TOPPING CRUMBLE:
  • 50g Mevalia bread mix
  • 25g Cold butter
  • 25g Brown sugar
  • FOR THE CARAMEL SAUCE:
  • 25g Butter
  • 25g Brown sugar
  • 25 ml Mevalia, Lattis/ ProZero
  • 1/2 tsp Mevalia Bread Mix
